Losing Weight Through Your Blood Type

Fat BurnersEver asked yourself the question: ‘why can’t I lose weight’? Research by top dietician Dr D’Adamo has revealed that your blood type can have more of a detrimental effect upon how much weight loss you can experience than you imagine.

In his book ‘Eat Right 4 Your Type’ (1996), he discovered that specific diet patterns work better with certain blood types, meaning how much weight loss you can achieve will be completely dependant upon your blood type. Not how much you exercise or alter your eating habits.

Conducting a study on 6,500 individuals (split into their respective blood groups of A, B, AB and O), once they were placed onto a unique blend of foods specifically suited to their blood type, all reported an immediate improvement in their health, as well as numerous other health benefits.

Why lose weight through blood type diets?

Reputed to encourage increased weight loss, better digestion, improved stress levels, more energy and better concentration; by examining their genotype Dr D’Adamo was able to discover why weight loss is harder for some individuals more than others.

Examining how much weight loss a candidate could experience through an altered diet, he concluded that:

Type A Patients: should follow a low fat, vegetarian based diet filled with fruits and vegetables as they are more prone to developing thicker blood and sensitive immunity, as well as cardiovascular disease, cancer and diabetes.

Type B Patients: should follow a more omnivorous diet of plants and meats as they have the best chance of avoiding serious diseases.

Type AB Patients: should stick to a strict vegetarian program, excluding all meats and replacing them with increased proteins.

Type O Patients: should consume a larger percentage of proteins, meats and vegetables and minimalise their carbohydrate content of breads and pastas. Type O’s should avoid wheat, dairy and nuts as they are prone to developing an underactive thyroid and stomach ulcers.

The Drawbacks

Although the benefits of following a blood type diet are definitely strong with all 6,500 volunteers experiencing positive weight loss results, there are reasons as to why diets of this kind are not more popular.

Based on the unchanging variable of your blood type, following such a strict diet can lead to iron and protein deficiencies further down the line.

Type A and AB are particularly at risk from such health risks if they do not properly incorporate a diverse vegetarian diet into their weight loss regime.

For this reason Why Lose Weight recommends that you continue to follow a healthy and nutritious diet, and limit your use of blood type diets to purely special occasions.
